  • I checked this place out last night on a first time OKC meetup and rather dug it; score one more great drinking hole I can walk to and stumble back home from. The interior is one of darkness and coziness with salvaged furniture and artwork that was thoughtfully put together to not look that way. Your eyes won't long for something to look at. I can see how this place would get easily rammed during busy hours--you've got the long bar and some space in the back. As I've written, it is a cozy space. But what of the drinks? I started with a Tom Collins and while I'm no expert on this one, it tasted like what I expected: lemon, simple syrup, gin, soda. If this is your drink, you don't be disappointed at all. Next up was a Manhattan. This is my favourite drink and I feel that by now I can make a pretty good one. Theirs was a unique take on this classic and one I appreciated as it fell way more toward the dry side of the scale but certainly maintained its "Manhattaness" Finally I had an Old Fashioned. This is the only one that did not work for me. Not to say it was not properly made. Like other classics, everyone has their own spin on the OF and I lean toward the traditional. Here I was given something with soda water added in a glass much bigger than a classic old fashioned glass. Again, this might be what some want. Pro Tip: get here before 6pm and you can get a pint for $5 or a cocktail for $6. Service was excellent--they know their cocktails here! No comment on the food--didn't try anything. All together it is a great place and I can see myself popping in from time to time to try their other listed cocktails off the menu. The vibe was pleasant enough for an early Monday evening and I'm sure things get crowded and lively on Friday and Saturday nights. Would I make a special trip out for this one? Probably not. Should it be included on a Danforth pub crawl? Yes! Highly recommended for us locals between Greenwood and Coxwell and a few blocks north or south of Danforth.
