  • Did someone say alligator? Bourbon Street is a semi-new bar that just opened up in the weirdest plaza ever. The plaza looks like a financial area and when it's late, you'll have to ring the door bell for them to let you in. Needless to say, if you did not follow a map, you probably wouldn't even know this place was here. One of our friends had the most trouble finding this place. Bourbon Street is very clean, filled with tables, has large couches, and a wall of TVs. They also have video poker/blackjack/slot machines for you to play at. Not only that but they have some token game machines for you to play at as well! As like many other arcade places, they give you 4 tokens per $1. They also have food and snacks! Every dollar that you spend on food and snacks, you'll able to get 1 token. So you can have some fun! Some games are ticket games and after so many tickets, you can exchange for prizes -- hats, stuffed animal, sports stuff, beads, etc. My husband and I have been here twice with our friends and both times we were able to try some of their food. So far, we have tried their alligator nuggets, alligator sausage hot dog, nachos, gumbo, fries, and muffletta. Their alligator nuggets were pretty good. They have the texture of chicken but the taste of fish. If you don't like fishy things, I wouldn't suggest trying it. Their nuggets are a bit inconsistent though -- some nuggets are the perfect size and some nuggets are just tiny and filled more with batter than anything else. As for their alligator sausage, I wouldn't suggest you try it unless you really like it ... I love seafood, fish, and anything weird. I never have a problem with gamey tastes or smells but the alligator sausage was a tad bit too much for me. The flavor was too pungent, even for my taste buds. I even eat durian! Nachos were good. Gumbo was okay. Muffletta was good. I love curly fries but they are also inconsistent with their portions. The first time I ordered it, I got a basket. On my second trip, it was like one third a basket. Not worth the $4 if I'm just going to get one third a basket. Cash only. THEY HAVE ABITA ON TAP. And it's cheap! I think their beers are like $3-4 each or something. They also have cocktails and frozen drinks, which are pretty delicious. They're about $7 each. I haven't been able to make it to Bourbon Street for a game but I definitely want to see how it gets there. Definitely would be back.
