  • I'm disappointed. I've been to a Just Brakes before- not this particular one- and never had any issues with any other ones but this one tried to rip me off. I went in letting Don, the manager, know with a phone call prior to coming in that my front brakes needed to be replaced as per Honda- where I bought my car. When I got there, I reiterated what I needed done and then gave them a coupon for $99 to get the pads replaced. After their inspection, they call me out there to tell me my brakes are bad- which I obviously already knew, that my rotors were bad- which I was kind of expecting AND that my calipers were bad on the front as well. Along with transmission fluid needing to be replaced, a brake bleed that was supposedly needed and an air filter needed replacing. They even tried to say my back brakes were recommended for a replacement as well but that they can hold off a little longer. A $99 coupon turns into a possible $950 service price tag. I told them I don't have that kind of money- especially right before Christmas- so they worked with the numbers to get it down to $683! I don't know where they thought I'd pull that money from (money I don't have) when I came in with a $99 coupon! They were even trying to make me use my credit card with them to pay for it all- which was unprofessional, in my opinion. I asked if they could just do the front brake pads. They refused. They insisted on the rotors as well. That would've been fine but they said they wouldn't warranty that work because I was not purchasing the calipers! They insisted that it might even catch on fire!!!!! The manager said "I'm not trying to scare you but I've seen it happen." So why am I going to have work done that doesn't have some kind of warranty on the work? When I finally decided to get a 2nd opinion, I told them that I wasn't doing anything at all. They seemed pretty irritated. They had me sign something- which I'm wondering about now- gave me my keys and eerily tell me to "drive safe" to maybe try and frighten me?? I went the next day to an actual body shop and low and behold- my calipers are just fine!!! They were checked by 2 techs and the main head mechanic at the body shop. My brakes did need to be replaced and my rotors needed to be as well- which I expected- but they are putting warranty on that service!!!! I'm disappointed. I'll never go to Just Brakes again because of this fiasco. How can you want to work for a company so dishonest and untrustworthy? In fact, how can you run your business that way??? You can ALWAYS get more with the truth. Stop trying to rip us off- especially women who you think don't know any better!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
