Our year and a half old pit-lab had a couple cracked nails.. One in particular we had been watching for a few days because the crack appeared to be getting bigger. On a Sunday afternoon, we noticed he wasn't his playful, jumpy self, and he was kind of favoring one leg when he would walk. When we got a good look at his paw, we saw that the nail we had been watching had completely split apart at the top and was basically just sitting on top of the nerve, which was exposed. I got on yelp to see if I could find a place that was open on Sunday's, other than an emergency clinic. Luckily I came across this place. We called them at 1pm and explained the situation (they close at 3 on Sunday's), and to our relief, they were able to get Mickey in right away to take a look. The vet clipped all of his nails and applied silver nitrate to the bad one so that it could heal. We were so relieved that they were able to get him in on such short notice, not to mention on a Sunday. Luckily, Mickey is doing much better now!
