  • Dr. Shim wanted to charge $181 for a 25 minute dental cleaning for my son (which my son described as the worst he had ever had), a brief 1 minute exam, and several digital x-rays. When it was noted that this price seemed a bit excessive for the service provided, Dr. Shim began lecturing me on how I didn't understand how my insurance worked and that they actually wanted to bill the insurance company more! No attempt to get him to focus on a reasonable cash price for the service was successful. He offered no further explanation of the pricing or any accommodation whatsoever for this concern. There was no apparent concern for the customers perception of the service or the firm. Perhaps he provides some good dental work but there is a real lack of any concern for customer service.
