| - I needed to rent a car for insurance reasons and again was serviced by the Enterprise Rent-A-Car location at 3745 Boulder Hwy (because it is closest to my home). ONCE AGAIN, this rental was problematic.
When trying to arrange/confirm the rental, it took DOZENS of attempts to reach anyone by telephone. They would either pick up and place me on hold for too long, or disconnect the call upon answering or simply not answer at all. They explained they were "slammed" with other customers, but hey, what was I?
The Chevy Cruze I received was filthy, inside and out and had other problems. First, the upholstery needed shampooing, as it appeared food stains were all over it. And because other renters had smoked in the car, the inside smelled like a sour ashtray. Second, the interior windows were covered with a thick layer of smoke, despite the car being clearly labeled as a non-smoking vehicle. In fact, as a disabled person, I had to pay someone to wipe down all of the interior windows so I could see properly -- especially at night. Third, the windshield washer fluid tank was empty because Enterprise failed to check it and refill it. Fourth, THE CAR REGISTRATION WAS EXPIRED BY ONE MONTH! AND I WAS PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE WHO NOTICED THIS! Thankfully, they let me go with a warning.
What customers want from a car rental company is clean, safe, reliable, properly documented vehicles. I felt like I had just borrowed the car from an irresponsible juvenile, NOT one of the nation's largest and well-known rental car firms.
What peeves me the most is how this experience was NOT unusual for this particular Enterprise location. In fact, it was "par for the course" (see my previous review).
Enterprise -- GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER! I like to use your service because you offer a free pickup and drop off service and I have been a loyal customer for years, but it seems you have a LOT of work to do to improve customer satisfaction.
Imagine how many other people experience similar issues with Enterprise Rent-A-Car and DON'T complain!
