| - Update 5/21/17: I was told by the salesman that they were doing a "soft hit" on my credit during my attempted negotiations just to get a ball park. Against my better judgement I gave my info, and was notified today by my credit monitoring program that they did a hard inquiry that will be on my credit report for 2 years!! I had given 2 stars bc the salesman was pleasant in my original review, but I'm now dropping it to 1 star as the "nice" salesman Jonathan lied to my face.
Original review: Went to this shop to look at a used 2015 4Runner Limited. Really a great vehicle. Salesman Jonathan was great and enjoyed the test drive. I was considering trading in my 2013 F150 w/ low miles. Then the sales manager comes out and offers me 4K below minimum KBB trade-in value (yes I know how to input my vehicles details btw), and literally will not negotiate on price At All! Other dealerships offered me 3k more at minimum.
I was a bit offended and taken aback by the offer on my vehicle and was given a 10 minute lecture on how KBB was wrong, only to have the manager keep throwing KBB in my face on his vehicle repeatedly. I was also lectured on supply/demand, and I'm a Financial Analyst that prices securities for a career. As it became clear to the Sales Manager that we weren't getting closer on price since he wouldn't budge a literal cent, he told me "You belong at a Ford dealership". I maintained my composure, thanked them for their time and walked out biting my tongue. Not worth demeaning myself to such a person.
Needless to say after the way I was spoken down to, then offered a terrible deal I agree that my business belongs somewhere else. This was my 4th dealership in shopping cars, and I've never been so offended or laughably lectured. If you want ridiculous pricing, a lecture from a car salesman, then to be insulted, this is the place for you!!
