I came here on a friend's recommendation since she was able to purchase special orthotics she needed at a reasonable price. The shop is small but they do have a lot of different shoe supplies and items for foot conditions. In addition they do sell top quality shoes such as Brooks and Dansko. They also sell diabetic footwear here.
I recognized a few of the brands of both shoes, sandals and orthotics where I had shopped elsewhere. The saleslady asked me what was I looking for. I had mentioned orthotic with a metatarsal arch. She brought me a pair and stuck them in my shoes but when I asked if she was going to have my feet put on that scanner she said it wasn't necessary. I later learned that the scanner isn't always accurate but for me it always seemed to work. Regardless the other thing salepeople check me for is the way I walk to determine the type of shoe best suited to my needs. That wasn't addressed either.
I saw a cute pair of sandals from a brand I had purchased last year from another store. She asked what size I took. I'm not sure because my size can vary so when I go to these types of stores I normally have both feet measured. She brought out two different sizes and although one seemed big and the other seemed to fit I just wasn't sure. Maybe it was just a bad day but if I'm going to spend a lot of money for sandals then I need to know how they feel, walk around on a hard surface, and more importantly know that I am wearing the right size.
I did like the cute Dutch style shoes on the floor but they were for display purposes only. This is just a first impression but I learned that the orthodic I wear they don't carry but they can special order it in. I wondered how they could get my specific information but didn't question that matter. Since this store is handy to where I live I may give them a 2nd try but for now, if I'm going to buy quality then I would expect that in return. Otherwise I may as well shop at a regular chain shoe store or a department store.
