  • I have decided to leave Valley Women for Women after a frustrating experience. I booked my well-woman appointment far in advance, at least two months. A few weeks before my appointment, I started having pain in my left side and what I thought was the start of a UTI. I decided to take Motrin and wait it out until my appointment. Two days before my appointment, I received a call from the office staff staying that my physician was scheduled for the hospital that day and couldn't make my appointment. I explained to them the increasing urgency to be seen since I've had ongoing symptoms waiting for this appointment. They scheduled me for two days later. Ok. I can wait two more days. Two days go by and within a few hours of my appointment, I receive another call stating that my physician had to go into emergency surgery. Her next available appointment is in 2 weeks! Seriously? I could see a physician assistant or nurse practitioner, whichever they offered, but I made an appointment to see my physician. I understand things happen, but come on. I ended up going to urgent care because by this time, I was worried something was really wrong. My UTI test came back negative at urgent care and they didn't have the technology for an ultrasound. The office staff started calling around looking for an office to send me to get an ultrasound ASAP due to ALL of my worrisome symptoms. Luckily, I found an OB-GYN that could take me and was very concerned for my symptoms. She did send me for an ultra-sound right away and treated me. I will now be staying with this new practitioner. I really liked my practitioner at Valley Women for Women and I'm not sure if she realizes this scheduling nonsense goes on, but she could have even called an apologized for the inconvenience or to find out what was wrong. Now I feel like I was just another patient. One that can be replaced after years of being seen. I don't know what's wrong with our healthcare system, but this didn't help my opinion of poor customer service.
