| - Alright, here we go...DO NOT GO HERE. I repeat, DO NOT. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Here is why:
To be honest, Dr burns is alright I guess, somewhat personable and good bedside manner, but I'm not impressed. She just always seems like she is in a rush and there isn't much privacy available, as I was easily able to hear the staff talking about other patients/gossip in the hallway, which isn't acceptable. Also, when I was in the room with Dr. Burns discussing my test results she didn't even shut the door, and I had to physically shut it myself to ensure my own privacy....really?? strike 1
The "nurses" dont seem to know anything, when I listed my medications the one nurse hadn't even heard of like 2 of the 4 meds, screwed up when drawing my blood and just overall seemed poorly trained, if trained at all. Introduced herself as a nurse but in reality a medical assistant, strike 2.
But here is my main complaint. The FRONT OFFICE STAFF is terrible. HORRIBLE. I am in the medical field and before I got my doctorate I worked as a receptionist and come on, they are the first people patients (especially new patients) see when they walk in the building. They should be happy and welcoming...HA not the case here. Some bitch named Jasmine always has this sour look on her face, NEVER smiles ( the 3 times I have been there), and I can hear the gossip in the background about other patients. HELLO HIPAA. So I went to get a pelvic ultrasound done and never got a call back about my results. I had to call the imaging company a week later to see if the results were in, they had told me they faxed the results to the office days ago. I had to physically pick up the phone and call the office to see if my results came in (they are supposed to call you to schedule a follow up, which apparently they do regardless if your results are + or - and they can't give results over the phone ), they said that the results were in and I would have to schedule to follow up. I wasn't sure why I was not called, so I said alright that's fine, but the receptionist on the phone was SO RUDE and it just started to piss me off. So I went for it and asked if I could get the results of the ultrasound to just pick it up and read myself because I would be able to read them due to my medical background. They said I needed to schedule a follow-up, but since my results were negative
I could just pick it up. UMM BITCH YOU JUST GAVE ME MY RESULTS ON THE PHONE AND YOU SAID YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO. After I called her out on it, I asked to get my entire medical record to pick up ALONG with the ultrasound results since they were negative because I wanted to switch doctors, she said that the doctors were on vacation and that she needs to get their permission first, and that they would call me back. So I wait...wondering why they are even open if the doctors are not there (THEY LIED). long story short I wait and get a call back 2 days later saying that my chart is ready for pick up. So i go in the next week when I find time after work to pick it up, they just have my ultrasound ready and not my chart, saying I was told I needed to fill out a consent to release records. umm they never told me first of all to do this, AND how is it okay to release the ultrasound results and not the others? PLUS I had signed a release when I filled out the patient packet, Jasmine is RUDELY saying that they cant release the progress notes until the doctor OK's it, and that they are closing soon so "charts take 8-10 days to copy", complete lies because she ended up printing out all my lab results right then and there and stating that she will call me back after the doctor OK's the progress notes to be released. I SIGNED A RELEASE AND HAVE THE RIGHT TO MY OWN MEDICAL RECORDS, plus I stopped in at 4pm and they close at 5pm.
Anyways. DO NOT GO HERE because the front office staff do NOT know what the hell they are doing, the communication is terrible and be ready to schedule your own appointments and do your own follow-up calls because they don't honestly can't tell the difference between a hand and a foot, they are so terrible. If it weren't for the front office I may consider staying here.
Good luck to all those who do go because you'll also wait 30-40 minutes PAST your scheduled appointment time to see the doctor in a TINY waiting room with the front office staff having NO concept of HIPAA laws or privacy whatsoever.
