  • DO NOT USE Roundpoint! Whatever cheap price they give you isn't cheap enough to be worth the hassle. I've used them twice so far, and they managed to botch both of my mortgages. The first time I used them I was refinancing my house. It took over 9 months just to refinance. All along the way, they admitted that they have to give preference to mortgages in progress that have deadlines. The only way I got the issue solved was be finally getting a hold of a customer advocate there (Lauren Liberto). 9 months is a LONG time for a refinance. The second time, I figured I would give them another chance (since they were cheap) at my mortgage for a new home. They told me all along the way that everything was in order for the closing date. Then the money just never showed up on closing day. We were sitting there, with the sellers, all twiddling our thumbs staring at each other (they were PISSED). No one at Roundpoint would answer their phones or give us a straight answer. It took about 10 solid hours on the phone with them to fix this. Everyone went home at the end of the day without solving their issues. Finally, some VP got involved the next day and pushed things through. We were penalized $1000 by the seller for missing our original closing date. For your sanity, use a more reputable broker or bank.
