To continue my food adventure down 17th ave, we decided to stop by Made by Marcus for ice cream. There's always a line so I was excited to see what this ice cream shop was all about!
Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Nice small restaurant. I really like the few hanging terrariums! There were a few tables inside and outside for patrons to enjoy their dessert, but most ended up taking out. There was a line when we arrived and it was really hot - so the place could definitely have used more AC!
Food: 3.5/5 There were a number of options on the menu including regular ice cream, soft serve, and sundaes, as well as various drinks. I had the kid scoop of blueberry lemon curd. I liked it, but I could not really tell the difference between this and regular ice cream... Maybe it was harder and a little more sour? Overall, I enjoyed this cool dessert on a hot day but did not really understand the hype.
Service: 3.5/5 Overall friendly and staff were trying to be efficient despite the long line
Price: 3/5 Slightly high given that I thought it was quite similar to regular ice cream
Overall: 3.5/5 I liked the cool dessert on this hot day, but did not quite appreciate how this ice cream was unique. There were some neat flavours though that I'd definitely want to try - such as the more chocolate-y ones! Overall satisfactory experience. I would give it one more try...
