  • My poor, poor hair.... I went to pure form in December and I am still recovering from this awful disaster and experience. I had a lot of blonde in my hair from the summer months and wanted to transition into a nice rich red/brown colour along with a new cut (different layers then current etc.) I put a lot of thought into this new hair style and brought about 3 different pictures for the colour and 2 for the cut, I told the stylist my concerns and my expectations, I asked questions about my hair already being in a stressed state due to the bleaching and wanted to know options of what we could do, I thought I covered my bases. The SENIOR stylist either didn't listen to me or just didn't care because she was quite rude to me and the first thing she said to me was that she was glad I wanted red because it's less work for her and that she thought my blonde was all "wrong" for me anyways. Throughout the colouring process all she kept talking about was how much she hated being a stylist and how she's on hard times working a second job...the list went on. It was very negative chatter. During the rinse of dye from my hair she abruptly said to me "you are going to freak out, but it's cool because no one wants boring" I'm kind of concerned at this point but hoping for the best so when we get back to the cutting station and she removes the towel I see my worst nightmare. My hair is BLACK, and I don't mean a dark brown.. it is BLACK. Now I am not sure if she did this because she didn't know how to mix the colours properly since my hair was already damaged from multiple blonde highlights (but hey, at least the blonde looked beautiful) but it was awful. I tried to be numb to it and not freak out and thought well, at least this will make my hair healthy again and at least I'll get a fresh cut... well she did not do what I wanted with the cut either, she gave me this weird 1960's go go girl cut and style. I seriously felt that I was her worst enemy and she wanted to ruin my hair life, it was so sad. About two weeks later, I was straightening my hair and noticed not only has my hair got even MORE damaged but it was starting to fall out and break like never before and... here is the worst part there was HUGE strips of lighter brown (from the previous blonde) still left in the back of my head. Great I didn't want to go back because I didn't want her to attempt to fix it and make it worse, I didn't want to have anything to do with them. So, that being said I haven't been to a salon since this last appt in December, which is a big deal to me since I usually go every 6-8 weeks, I guess not just my hair was traumatized. I have been trying to nurse my hair back to health over the last 5 months and it's only now starting to show a slight change. Please save yourself $200+ and go somewhere where they will appreciate your business and will not destroy your hair.
