  • When I was going through online lists of must-visit places in Montreal, I came across a lot of museums, parks and Dieu du Ciel! Mr. H is a hardcore beer lover so we had to go there over the weekend. We entered and the place was packed. I couldn't spot any waitress so we just stood by the door thinking she'll come seat the four of us. A couple came in after us and stood behind us for a while. Next thing I know, the girl (from the couple) had slithered away and run to a table and sat down. I was like 'Whaaaat? We came first', so I go find a waitress and ask how does this seating situation work. She says 'Keep your eyes open and grab a table when you see it'. Boy did this excite the Indian side of me. Next thing you know my friend and I are eyeing every table giving them a stink eye. We kept staring at this one couple that had finished paying but refused to leave, looked like they were on a date and I kept hoping they might want to leave to 'continue the party elsewhere'. We finally found a table and stood over the people leaving while they wore their jackets and grabbed the seats asap. The place has a decent list of beers on their menu and some of the ones tried on our table were Moralite, Immoralite and a few others I don't remember cause I was getting a bit tipsy. I do know that this place serves a Glenlivet 12yrs for $8, not bad at all. I also tried the white wine which was really good (there was just one on the menu) and my friend had the Pinot which she claimed was much better than the expensive one we had at L'Express the night before. Another thing I found quite nice was that there was a section of the place that had a list of the next beers being fermented there. You can even see it. The beer here was great! The place was a fun one to hang out in and we throughly enjoyed ourselves. The service was great for a place so crowded but the DJ (yes there was a DJ!) sucked! I didn't even notice he was there for like the longest time, he was in a corner and staring into oblivion, he looked so bored and his music portrayed his mood. Thankfully it wasn't too loud and the place was quite noisy for us to overlook it. I would definitely recommend this place to all the beer lovers,
