I have been wanting to check this place out for ages. What a mediocre experience. Wednesday night, no reservations, the place was pretty dead. We went in at around 7:30. So if there was dinner rush it would have happened. There is plenty of room and we get sandwiched beside a bunch of other two tops. I may as well have been sitting at a picnic table. No intimacy at all. I watched as the restaurant continued to be empty. Longing for a booth across the way.
So this place is pricey. I don't mind paying if the food is spectacular. We ordered the fish cakes. they were yummy. but for 12 dollars, they were the size of 3 small meatballs. My entree was the Cuban sandwich( I keep hearing is amazing ) 14 dollars without a side! Had to order fries for another $5 It amounted to grilled cheese/ham and pickle sandwich that was so greasy I could not eat it, with a side of soggy cress.
My friend did not fair much better. Pork Belly with white beans. $24 literally a slab of braised bacon on a half cup of beans. MEH! He ended up finishing my fries ( also disgustingly greasy) because he was still hungry.
After two glasses of wine, and our meals, I was blow away that our bill was $120 plus tip. Ouch! Yeah, as I said I have no problem paying for a great meal. I would have done better at the Lake view down the street if I wanted that much grease. for a quarter of the price.
