This review is based on our attempt to have an event with Ceasars Palace. This should also be a little education for you event planners that decide to use any Ceasars property in the future.
Pretty simple. We contact the property. Explained we were having an event and we would have to park 3 cars inside a room that will be awarded to our top performers. Dinner, a stage, cocktails etc. pretty simple event. Nothing out of the ordinary other then maybe the cars.
So we were contacted and given a contract. On the contract we had s food and beverage minimum that we would surely blow right through. In addition a charge for using the room of 7000. My assistant contact Ceasars and said we throw party's every year. We have used many of the resorts to do so and we have never ever paid a fee to use the room. Response was this is how we do things. My assist brought it to my attention and of course I said no. I won't pay a fee to use the room and inflated food and beverage costs plus AV.
Ceasars came back with another option after getting a couple more people involved, and quoted us a minimum of 12500 or 1500 for the room and a minimum of 9000. Can't make this up. Doesn't even ad up. I think at this point they were just stroking us. So we went back and said ok to the 9000 plus 1500 for the room. She described the 1500 as labor for the employees to set it up. So I told my assistant to make sure they give us a quote on the AV and stage. This is where I simply dropped my jaw and thought what bs.
The lady first said to my assistant you have to sign the agreement by tomorrow or the prices and guarantees are gone. So I was already out of my office at the time on Tuesday and we assumed we would call in the morning and work out the details. My assistant called in the morning, late morning and early afternoon. Finally she gets a call back at 5:30. The lady at Ceasars said you need to sign this agreement right away or we will not guarantee the price. We said well what's the price on AV and stage etc. she replied and I quote, "you need to sign the contract for us to give you those numbers". Now, I was born at night just not last night. This was a joke. And she was serious.
I'm in the car business. A heavily criticized business. But this is just a fools agreement. There is no way you can trust these idiots. They will not honor nor will they keep your best interests financially at heart.
So I booked the event at the HardRock hotel with no brain damage. No room fee and they were happy to quote A to Z costs.
Beware of Ceasars for your next event. Or at least give yourself enough time to come up with a plan B.
