  • I teeter totter here on 2 and 3 stars, I probably won't stay here again, but it might not be as much of a turn off to others depending on what you are looking for. What it has going for it: - Price. It was about $75 a night with breakfast included, and this included a Saturday night. Not bad for Phoenix. - Location. Just off I-10 and literally minutes from downtown. This proved really useful going to the DBacks game and the Symphony. - TV. The TV is large and their channel choices are rather bountiful. About 100 or so channels including several HBO selections. - Electronic Support. Working WIFI and multiple outlets and USB ports. Refrigerator and microwave, and a Keurig for an especially nice touch. What it could improve: - Bedding. The bed hangs off the front of the box spring/frame by about a foot. They have placed a spongy material under the bed to provide some fluff but it's tacky. The pillows have no life left in them. - Lighting. The rooms are especially dark and sterile looking. The lighting is not bright enough and it is not the warm lighting, but the very white lighting that added to the sterility of the room. - Odor. The entire 4th floor, which was under some kind of improvement or repair, had the odor of paint and peanuts. Very off-putting, even permeating into the room at first entrance but eventually dissipating. - Customer Service. Cardboard, sterile like the lighting, no sense of humor, urgency, or helpfulness. - Well Worn. Despite their efforts to revamp, there are nicks and scratches, stains, and evidence of cheap endeavors to update. For example, the window unit A/C that is controlled by a thermostat on the wall...the key reader which works about 60% of the time...the door lock, which almost completely locked us in the room...the phone out of order...no shelf space in the bathroom, and the décor and tiling completely lacking in the bathroom. So there you have it. Save a few bucks, enjoy the city, watch some TV, laugh at the bed, if you can see it with the poor lighting, and breathe through your mouth.
