  • This is a hidden gem in NW Calgary. Even though you're in the city it feels like you've made a trip to the countryside. The market is so family oriented, there seems to be something going on every weekend, from face painting to marshmallow roasting and seasonal events at Halloween, Christmas & Easter. There is a a small playground for the kids as well as an indoor toy area and the kids love the exotic birds and plants at the entrance to the market. The vendors do not disappoint.....very friendly and exceptional quality. The only reason i don't give a 5 star rating is because of the vendor turnover. We have been coming since the beginning and every time we fall in love with a particular vendor they seem to eventually dissapear from this market. I suspect because of the location they may not generate the sales of a more centrally located market, which is unfortunate. I also should mention the restaurant Symons Valley Roadhouse which is downstairs from the market is exceptional. I love the decor, very rustic but elegant. We have been here for date nights, family dinners, family brunches, special occasions, and it never disappoints.
