  • Updating: March 2018 I still stand by all the great things I said about the aquarium before, but here are a few additional things. Try to avoid this at all costs on school holidays (I know, hard). It is insanely packed and very very noisy. Not good for those who are very sensitive to a lot of noise. You may want to eat elsewhere before or after your visit - the Ripley's Cafe area is very poorly designed. There is a bottleneck after the movator and you're deposited into this "main" area with the cafe, a small kids playground that is very congested, a hands-on horseshoe crab petting zone and water play zone, and restrooms. Very very congested. Hard to find seats for food. -------------------------- First review: Love this aquarium. It is well built and all the exhibits look incredibly clean. Enjoy seeing a multitude of sea creatures - so many fish! A really cool exhibit where you stand on a movator that brings you through a glass-ceilinged tunnel where you can see large sharks, sting rays, sea turtles, and many fish as they swim around. There is a kids area where they can slide and climb and play with water. I really like that there are areas where you can touch a shark, horseshoe crabs, or sting ray. The area with jelly fish is also extremely cool. They have put extra light effects to see them better as well. There is a lot to look at. Ideally, pre purchase tickets so you don't need to line up on a busy day. And don't come on a busy day if you don't have to! Earlier is better also. I've been during crazy busy days and it's still enjoyable but I can imagine how much more serene it would be if I had gone another time. Currently it is a really good deal to get an annual membership. I like that you pay by person and not "by generic family". If you buy 3 or more annual memberships you get 20% off! This means that it is already worth it after around 2 visits. You could visit this year and even almost one whole year later. As a member you get free coat check, 20% off cafe, and 20% off the gift shop. They also have random promos and this time they gave 2 free tickets per account. Tip: bring an extra change of clothes if your kids are playing with the water. Tip: it is okay to use strollers in the aquarium but if it is too busy, a side by side is way too wide to push through the crowd. Tip: buying timed tickets (select what time you will enter) is cheaper than any time entry tickets.
