I've been a loyal customer of this Discount Tire ever since I got my first car. They've always done a good job and I felt they were trustworthy. Today, however, I felt like I was almost taken advantage of. I went in to get two new tires put on my car. Discount said it would cost upwards of $415 so I took the information and did the research on my smart phone. When I looked up the exact tires I was getting put on they were showing up as ~$160/each on Discount Tires website. Where did those extra charges come from? I was quoted $415. I asked for a price breakdown. He stated the obvious things like an environmental fee, taxes, etc. which totaled to around $30 and I'm okay with paying that. But then he said that the additional charges were $50 for an OPTIONAL warranty (which I would NOT need because the tires already come with a manufacturers warranty) and than an additional $25 for ANOTHER OPTIONAL warranty. $75 is a lot of money and it was not initially presented as optional. I had to ask a lot of questions. Had I not done my research, I would have completely overlooked this. Discount Tire, if you want to keep your customers, you need to be completely transparent with us. This is unacceptable.
