| - In Phoenix, where decent coffee shops can be rare, Lux does it correctly. Your drink will taste like a proper example of what you ordered, and the way you ordered it. I've drank a lot of jacked up Americanos in this life, and to be handed a drink that's rich and satisfying and distinctive is a rare treat. For this and this alone, it gets five stars. I've heard that the food is good, but I wasn't interested.
DOWNSIDES: crowded as hell. Parking is insufficient. Music is loud, and combined with the people, it forms a incoherent droning sound that can make it difficult to understand what's being said. If you were looking for a meaningful place to have a conversation, maybe skip it, because you'll frequently craning forward to ask people to repeat themselves.
In a different town, I might call this 4 stars. But it's the exactly what it needs to be in the place where it belongs.
