  • We bought 4 universal studio passes for 3 days at this Costco, but we haven't seen the tickets since we left the store. The cost per ticket before taxes is $119.00, so I spent over $500 on these tickets. We went into the store and talked to a manager who told us the tickets are equivalent to "live goods" and once they're lost, they're unable to replace them. Afterwards, I called Universal Studios who told us they would've been able to trace them and print them had we purchased through them directly, but since it was purchased through Costco, Costco would have to reprint the tickets. So, we called Costco customer service to let them know of our conversation with Universal and see what processes they have in place for reprinting lost tickets. First, I spoke with a lady who placed me on hold, then suddenly transferred me to another lady. I re-explained what I had told the previous lady and she placed me on hold as well. Then I ended up being transferred again while on hold to a man. I re-explained our issue another time and he told us flatly Costco will not reprint them. I asked him if there was some type of digital or electronic copy of the tickets available online. He said there would be only once we "activated" the tickets online, per the instructions on the tickets. I let him know as I had already mentioned, we hadn't seen the tickets since we were at the store and asked if our tickets could be refunded then since we can't use them, nor could they be reprinted and because they can't be activated online. He said he couldn't refund the tickets without them being returned to the store and wouldn't know if we had the tickets still. I countered then Costco should communicate to Universal Studios to make those tickets unusable then because they've been lost so we could have a refund. He said, he didn't know who to contact about that and it wasn't part of his department. Finally, he said, I will talk to our higher ups about it and disconnected, without getting a phone number or email address. Not a bit of empathy, they did not try to work with me, and I was passed around from person to person because no one wanted to deal with the issue because they know they don't have a process in place for what seems like can be a common issue! Lost, stolen, washed in the washing machine, kids lose the ticket etc there's so much that can happen to a tiny slip of paper you receive in your pile of groceries - Costco, why don't you have any method (like Universal Studios would) to reprint, reissue, or refund lost or stolen tickets?
