My family frequently stays at Westin Hotels, but this one is a huge disappointment. My parents and brothers visited Charlotte for my graduation weekend and I spent a lot of time with them there (I live a few blocks away.)
Most importantly, the reason I gave ANY stars at all is because the men at the door and the valets are amazingly nice, polite, and professional.
Other than that, customer service is awful. I called on the phone to ask if they had an on site tailoring service (for my graduation dress.) After being transferred arbitrarily to "catering" and various other departments I was finally told that there wasn't and hung up on.
I figured they were just rude on the phone so I elected to ask my next question in person. When I asked the front desk if they have a steamer (for the gown) or a microwave in the hotel (well...for food) they remarked "NO" along with an eye roll and turned away.
The restaurant is the worst. I ate there two days in a row. Or should I say, my parents ate there two days in a row. Not because the food was that good, but because at the end of the day they were tired and didn't want to pay the obscene room service fee. I wasn't hungry and both nights ordered a VODKA ON THE ROCKS. And they got my order wrong. Every time. How the heck do you get that order wrong?!?!?! I can't understand. Then the server returned every 30 seconds to interrupt our conversation and make sure that everything was still going okay. Every 5 minutes is fine, but come on lady let us get a word out. She ended our last visit by spilling hot coffee on my father.
There are a lot of nice hotels Uptown. I would recommend choosing a different one.
