  • My friends from out of town and he was coming to Pittsburgh to visit. He wanted to try Try the Escape Room while he was here. He purchase his tickets using Groupon. He lives in Houston. In Houston, if there is a private party you need a code to purchase tickets, or it won't let you move forward. If it doesn't ask for a code, it's open to the public. With that said, he assumed that all companies run the same. He purchased his ticket and it said private party, but it didn't require a code. Furthermore, the private party time was the same time on the Groupon voucher that he purchase. So, of course, he thought it was ok getting them. The day came to use the ticket and we were told that it was for a private party. The way the manager handle it was completely rude! We explained the situation, and one of his comments were, "We've been doing it this way for about two years and never had a problem so I don't know what to tell you!" My friend was trying to resolve the situation and provided solutions like reschedule, but the manager was not trying to help us. My friend ended up asking for the information to the owner which he gave us the owners name and email. This incident happened Jan. 21. He emailed to manager Jan. 23. He has yet to receive an response from anyone!!! . I tried emailing and I'm still waiting for a response. After reading the reviews, it seems like they have had issues in the past with over booking or not correctly booking people. What I am so upset and disappointed about is the way we were treated, and the lack of customer service. I always think pittsburgh has the best activities, and encourage my friends from around the states to visit us, and this definitely put a bad taste in his mouth; especially since he is not from the US. In addition, it was something nee for me to try, and I was hoping to recommend to my boss as a fun professional development...BUT NOT ANYMORE. If that count manage our issue. I'm sure an organization of 500+ staff members they wouldn't be able to handle either of a problem occurred!! I'll let you know if I get a response....
