  • Yikes! Here's another reason for a zero-star rating system for Yelp! Let's preface this...it should not take 1.5hrs to rent a car. Landed at Pearson, breezed thru NEXUS, first bag off belt, then I get to National. Holy dog sh*t this location s*cks!!! It's across from the terminal, which is nice, but that's where it ends. Their booth was packed and extremely hot. The booth dragon sent me to the Emerald Club where a very nice man showed me all of their awful cars they had available. Only one sh*t box passed the smell test, so Malibu it was. Get to the Emerald checkout booth to find a nice young man named, "Trainee." He proceeded to advise that the car wasn't an Emerald reservation and all the consequences that included. He went so far as to cancel my business account reservation, charge nearly $300 on my personal card, d*ck me over on a car, then give me some song and dance about the insurance. Ok pal, travel to the states, check out how National works there, and see that it doesn't take 45mins for a transaction at the booth. The beauty of most National location is a well stocked lot with plenty of vehicles of which the renter gets to choose, not the rental car company. This was a miserable experience...I was seconds away from foregoing the rental and getting a car service. So I go back to the office, wait in line for the whole upsell of the couple in front of me. They took so long that someone in Canada could have conceivably made a doctor's appointment and actually seen a doctor in the time it took me to get a rental car. I did get a joy out of the couple in front of me being talked into a Hyundai Sonata, then seeing the guy behind the counter turn to go for the keys and realize he had no Sonatas, so he talked them into a Nissan Altima. Then the nice young man, Trainee, wishes me a good trip. All I could do was laugh. I can't wait to return this thing, and next time I'm flying to City Centre Airport and taking a cab.
