For those of you who don't know, Ashley's Furniture as of a couple weeks ago went into a no commission based sales team.... And it shows. Being a former car salesman I know first hand how uncomfortable it can be when dealing with sales people. This new approach is a solid way to shop for furniture.
My wife and I came in to this location about a week ago and were helped by Deshey and Hoyt as we looked for a desk and bedroom set. We have purchased furniture from this and the Henderson location on several occasions and the fact that we no longer were hounded by sales people made it a much more enjoyable experience. Patience is required as what looked to be like the whole customer service staff is new to fit this new business idea, but compared to Walkers where you get BOMBARDED with sales people every step you take, its easy to deal with . We were greeted, shown the areas where our items would be and left alone with no pressure or over bearing salesmen floating around us.
After a few minutes we were greeted by Deshey who told us a little about the products and sat back and let my wife and I finish discussing this somewhat large and expensive purchase. Now in the old days, seeing how much money in commission would most likely be given with a transaction this size to the salesman I had come to expect the high pressure of making sure we did not leave that place without everything we were looking at, but being somewhat undecided on what we want, she continued to be soft spoken and very helpful never pushy. Any questions she could not answer she asked for Hoyt to help us out with and once again didn't feel any pressure into rushing into anything. It was this experience that lead us to make our purchases and end up with an overall excellent experience. We will continue to shop at Ashley's and would highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for furniture in the future.
