  • For regular cleanings and a cavity filled, the dental office is fine. Anything else, if you need bridges, crowns, any major dental work, I would look elsewhere. My experience was painful, both physically and mentally. The dentists let the "assistants", which mostly are new grads, or else perform like new grads have at you, and they are getting their experience learning on you. I actually had an assistant break the temporary bridge and ask the dentist if it was still ok to use. I had so many returns to the office because of ill fits or breakage or pain, that I finally told the dentist I didn't want anyone else working on me but him. But the damage was done, and the ill fitting bridge was made and put in permanently, so I couldn't do much more than try to modify the fit with the dentist. I was so disgusted with the whole process (and I have had dental work before, so I knew what to expect, but never have I ever encountered this level of incompetency), I researched and found another dentist. The new dentist looked at the bridge and told me to go back (for modifying the bridge) and told me what he saw as well, that needed to be modified. I did, and my old dentist did some modifications and said he couldn't do anything else. Wow. Nice to stand behind your work. I went back to my new dentist a few months later, still so bothered by the fit (it was too wide and had a rough spot)my tongue would have a raw spot where it would hit it, (try to control that!). I told him I needed him to try to modify it and what my old dentist said. I didn't care if I had to pay out of pocket for a new bridge( which is a substantial amount of $$), it was driving me crazy. He agreed, and first tried to just smooth it out and modify the width without comprising the bridge structure. Well guess what, that is all it took. A dentist that really listened to what his patient told him. Could not be happier with my new dentist on the west side.
