  • I came in before a girlfriend's birthday party and night out for a blow out and make up application. The stylist was very friendly and asked what I wanted done to my hair and we agreed on loose curls. She finger tossed it while drying and curled and then pinned the curls. We then went over to do makeup, and I told her I wanted a natural but dressed up look. I even showed her a picture. I told her I wanted natural lashes added, as well. When she finished, my eyes looked way too dark for the natural look I wanted, and the lashes were very long and not the basic ones she described. My face was too pale for my body and was extremely shiny. Not pleased but figured I could fix it myself since I had my own makeup in the car. We went back to her hair station and, when she took the pins out, my hair was flat on top and had tight curls on the bottom. Definitely not the loose curls we agreed on. My hair looked very awkward, and I think she realized this because she immediately started teasing my hair like crazy! She did not ask me if I wanted it teased. I did not want it teased, but once she started, there was no going back. I have been here once before and the stylist asked me if I wanted my hair teased before starting so I assumed this stylist would, too. Not so. At the end of this appointment, my hair looked like I was electrocuted. I felt like I looked like a drag queen and not beautiful and ready for a girl's night out. I fought back the tears and did not talk to her about my reaction because I had no time to spare. The salon was very packed, and I was embarrassed by how I looked and just wanted to get out of there asap. I ran into Nordstrom's make up dept where a woman graciously helped me remove my lashes and eye make-up. She then gave me the natural, tone matching look I wanted. I had no brush to tame my teased hair, so I worked my hair back into bobby pins, and that was that. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed, and I will definitely not be returning to the salon.
