| - Came to yum cha cuz of all the good reviews.. 4.5/5 stars on yelp on a dim sum place?! Gotta try it!!
Yum cha is located on Decatur x Tropicana, it is right across from international market.
The menu for dim sum is really small compare to all of the other dim sum places, and they have it by groups. It doesn't have a lot of what I usually ordered, and on the day that we were there, they don't even have the BBQ pastries bun, they told us they don't have it today.
So I've tried the har gao, siu mai, spare ribs, the sticky rice with lotus leaves along with a few other dim sum, and honestly, I am not impressed. The taste is alright, I've definitely had better elsewhere, but the lack of dishes is really upsetting, I still felt the crave for dim sum after eating here. And they don't have egg tarts! (Maybe it's cuz it's weekday?)
On their menu, they have a bunch of random stuffs too, like roti with curry and etc, and u can also go up to the counter to get the food too.
While they do have good services, I come to dim sum place for dim sum, so expand your menu!! Seriously, there was a lot of dishes that you can add!!
Oh another disappointment was that they have messed up on the har gao. It was over cooked and the wrap wasn't made right. And I wanted to try their xiao long bao and they didn't have it :(
However, they do have chicken bao here and it's rarely seen in most dim sum place. And they are also supposed to have streamed cake but I didn't see it in the cart?
The price is cheaper on weekdays/non-holidays so it's a better deal to go on Monday-Friday but they might have less items on the cart(?).
