My daughter said she felt like she was in jail the first time years ago when going to this place. This place did nothing for her besides the few group sessions that were beneficial. Years later we have realized what self care and healing really means and she still ended up back in there due to postpartum depression recently. This time she said it was better. They were a lot nicer but I do not like that they support and endorse habits like eight cigarette breaks a day instead of more recreation, group, and individual therapies during the day. It would be nice if they even offered some tips or rehab for cigarettes as well considering it is an unhealthy habit. They basically sit around and babysit while everyone anxiously awaits leaving instead of trying to provide a therapeutic experience that will leave patients to growth afterwards. The staff is very nice and I do not blame them. I believe upper management or owners need to provide a better program for their patients. Also, focus a little less on money and more on quality. At the end of my daughters stay the financial lady had the nerve to ask her if she knew she did not have insurance when she got admitted, when she was not admitted by choice. I understand they have to make their money but if someone needs treatment at the time of a mental breakdown they usually are not asking for the money first. I believe staff should worry primarily about patient treatment first. So why would she even make a statement like that to her? It just seemed a little inappropriate. I called because I felt she needed help and I did not think they would send her there again. I am truly disheartened, it feels like she wasted her money and time once again.
