Super friendly and cheerful, and amazingly, free. It's on an industrial stretch of Washington, but everything is tidy. In other parts of the US (Minnesota in particular), electronics recycling is required by state law, but all of the outfits there charge per item by type or by pound for some types of stuff. The stuff is sorted and shipped to China to be melted down for metals (lead in picture tubes, gold in chips, etc) and the recycling outfit paid for the raw materials. This saves lots of water and raw energy compared to mining raw materials. Shipping to China is cheap as stuff rides back on container ships full of mostly empty containers. So, don't be shy and do a good deed... take your old computers, monitors, and other electronic items on in and drop them off!
