| - TLDR: 4 star food, 2 star manager= 3 star
I was really excited to try this place. After living here a year, and being someone who loves mac and cheese, it's insane that I hadn't stopped in for a bowl yet. So Easter Sunday with no other plans? Let's do it!
My wife and I came in around 7:30, we really like the decor, and the lady at the register was super super nice. Unfortunately, we ordered a couple alcoholic drinks, and she needed to have the manager (guy with very greased back hair) check our IDs. Everything was great, but I noticed afterward that our woodchuck was 5 bucks on the receipt, but very obviously 4 dollars on the menu.
I went back up because our free garlic bread wasn't on the receipt, she apologized and put it through. Then I asked about the woodchuck. The manager and her both stared at the menu like "huh, so it is 4 dollars" ... And the manager proceeded to turn around and say "well I can't change the price." With attitude. The girl at the register, who was so helpful was also able to understand this was a crappy thing to do to a customer, and offered me one dollar out of the tip jar. I refused (I mean, it wasn't HER fault, I'm not taking tips).
Anyway, just a ridiculous situation, with obvious evidence (the receipt and the menu) that it was the restaurants fault, and zero effort from a manager to make any sort of amends (not even an apology.)
The food itself was pretty good. The pepper jack mac and cheese my wife ordered was nothing special at all, but my truffle baked mac and was absolutely delicious. I added the steak, which wasn't great.
Would definitely come back for the food, but I really dislike giving business to places that aren't managed well.
