| - Great work out, very expensive. I walked into Orange Theory to get some info and was offered a free class to come and see what it's all about. A number of friends work out here and are very happy so here is my experience.
I arrived about 30 min early to do some paperwork and get a heart rate monitor. I met the instructor, cool guy with a military background. We started the class with a group cheer "get it!" on 3 then broke into 3 groups (weight room, treadmill and rowing). It was pretty much what I expected. About 15 minutes at each station with a mix of get the heart rate going, up to max effort for a few seconds and then back down, repeated throughout. The benefit was that I could just show up, get a great workout, get coaching, group encouragement and all without any planning.
During this first class the heart rate monitors weren't working so I was offered another class for free. I took the second class and it was pretty much the same thing. Heat rate up and down on repeat.
Great workout, no thinking but very expensive. You could get the same effect with a little planning and do everything at your $10 gym. However, if you need motivation and don't want to spent the time planning, this is the place for you.
