  • Gordon Ramsay restaurants consistently deliver more hits than misses and should be recognized bc the hits are way above most other restaurants bests. That said, this visit I sat at the bar and enjoyed Ray Ray the bartender's regular, but not obtrusive check ins. He personally checked the kitchen when the man's burger next to me was delayed. And by delayed, I mean free extra wine bc it was a long time and the kitchen refused to serve less than well-executed food. I again, ordered the fish and chips. It's a pub and I wanted pub food. The fish was tasty, crunchy, slightly salty (in a good way), hot, flaky, moist, and HUGE. Plus, it was light and not greasy, beckoning additional bite after bite. and when my paced slowed, a little tangy, salty, texture-pleasing tartar sauce propelled me to finish every last bite. So what no bread service at lunch. Not a deal breaker here and Ray did ask if we wanted dinner menus. The chips were thicker, square fries, with crispy edges and hot, soft potato inside. The Parmesan and seasoning blend were delights and almost rendered the ketchup unnecessary. My husband finished his and started helping me on my portion. My last time here I wondered why oh why, mushy peas? Now, these peas still retain enough texture to have some bite. They taste fresh. The savory, almost umami-like taste kept me going back bite after bite. His pork belly sandwich delighted the palate with a nice blend of bitter, soft, crunchy, wet, sweet, and heat. He did request extra horseradish sauce but only offered me a single bite bc it was that good. He says he would order it again, and add a crispy or cheesy element. Still a hit in our books! Best part, Ray-Ray excellences advised in a more-British tasting beer, and delivered my husband a Guinness and Dunn from Scotland. It perfectly complemented his sandwich. We will return! Till then Yelpers, try to read a few of the 500+ reviews to order wisely and granted, the service sometimes ha hang ups but I'm always, always a pleased customer!
