Mastro's has good reviews and my honey really loves lobster bisque so we decided to give it a try. We had seen the strange bird house looking structure at Crystals many times before. We made a reservation for a table in the birdhouse although there are a lot of tables in the other sections of the restaurant. We were promptly seated and service started immediately. We ordered the vanilla battered shrimp as an appetizer. My wife ordered the lobster bisque which we shared. She ordered Parmesan crusted grouper. I ordered Blackened Chilean Sea Bass. For sides we ordered creamed spinach and sea salt and vinegar fries. My wife liked the shrimp, I was disappointed in it. It was very lightly tempura battered, very tender. I just thought it was bland. The lobster bisque was everything we had hoped for and more. It was thick and creamy with large pieces of lobster; very savory. The Parmesan crusted grouper was excellent. It was perfectly cooked and lightly spiced. The Sea Bass was perfect. It was very thick, light and flaky. The creamed spinach was excellent. The salt and vinegar fries were good. They are very thinly sliced (think potato sticks). But the best was still to come. We ordered their signature warm butter cake. OMG this may be the best cake either of us has ever eaten. It is served with a garnish of fresh fruit, a huge scoop of ice cream and fresh whipped cream. Regardless of what else you order here, you MUST try this warm butter cake. Service was excellent and she the price is fair.
Minuses- the noise level is very high. Very hard to hold a conversation. They have a large staff of servers, but service was slow. One of our sides was delivered as we finished our entre's.
We will definitely be back.
