| - (Shopped 03/18/17 SA @ 10:00am): OK...I'd circle back to this business if I were in the area again!
In town with fellow diehard Chicago Cubs fans for some Spring Training Major League Baseball action, we stopped into the closest Circle K on McDowell Rd. for various snacks but mostly in desperate need for liquid libations that wouldn't get us drunk. Would we be saying "oh thank heaven..." after we left this national chain of convenience!?
PURCHASE
Circle K 1 Gallon Purified Drinking Water ($1.59) & Peace Tea Georgia Peach Tea ($1.29): Having felt dehydrated from the night before of drinking alcohol and deathly afraid to drink the tap water from the creepy hotel we rented for the weekend, I needed some drinks of the non-alcohol variety. The water was refreshing, and I gave "Peace" a chance...both of which were refreshing especially in the hot weather https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=LUTBLqvSf_cVkUHrnAQYMw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw.
SERVICE
The store was armed with only one employee behind the counter which was truly fine since we simply needed someone to ring up our purchases. Everything was easy to find and grab without any assistance. Wam...bam...thank you, ma'am!
PARKING (FREE)
They had their own small parking lot that held no more than ten cars. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of unrestricted street parking along the main drag of McDowell Rd. and all surrounding side streets.
ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE
Located along a busy street, the unmistakable red "K" on the storefront caught your attention https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=AjMqVvJXPHgskP4oKsjh8Q&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw followed by the tiniest of gas machines (four pumps total) dwarfed by the fact that they were so detached and distanced from the store itself https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-Uht2uAgnuy-tkYHPrrW6A&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Once inside, it was your garden-variety convenience store compact in nature but packed aisle-to-aisle and wall-to-wall with goods and merchandise. Along one wall were the refrigerated coolers which we were all particularly interested in on this visit https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=UmDf_NtapNzcP0CrBeQqww&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. From candy, chips, condoms, drinks, prepared food, to school supplies and more, this place had it all. Any wall space was covered with advertising and marketing material (my field!). Plenty of natural lighting came in through the many tinted front glass doors and windows while soul-sucking fluorescenting electric lighting lined the ceiling and filled in the rest. There was one TV while music played in the background.
ATTIRE
Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops.
OVERALL
The Circle K on McDowell Rd. in Phoenix more than satisfied our needs and left us with no reason why we wouldn't visit it again during our next trip to Spring Training. The gas station was a huge plus (although we didn't use it) and seemed reasonably priced. Generally-speaking, prices seemed fair and not exorbinant. Circle K was A-O.K.! I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $3.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS
