| - I've gotta crush on Pinky's. The place is fun, colorful, loud, and provides delicious food! I checked this place thanks to a group co-worker lunch. Once we arrived (party of four), we were seated immediately and had our drink orders placed. Amidst our group, two had previously been to Pinky's and had plenty raves about the white trash burgers.
I decided to go with the Korean BBQ tacos served with black beans. I'm not sure why they include Korean in the description of the BBQ sauce? There was nothing specifically Korean-tasting about those tacos or sauce, however, they were delicious. The pork was tender and juicy and the sauce was sweet with a little tang. The portion of black beans is quite small but I found it to be just right as an accompaniment to the tacos.
My other coworker who had also never been to Pinky's ordered the corndog crusted shrimp and really enjoyed them! She said they were "out of this world" but found the fries to be lackluster.
Throughout our meal, we had a rotating list of servers who came to check in our meals, refresh our drinks and provide other odds & ends.
For my second visit to Pinky's, I called ahead for a to-go order. I decided on the popcorn chicken salad. Unfortunately, this time I was a little underwhelmed with my meal. I am not a fan of mixed greens in a salad and that was the base for this. I like more crunch in my lettuce and there was none to be found. However, the chicken was very yummy!
My overall opinion is to avoid the salads and go all the way with the burgers, tacos, and basket options. Pinky's is a fun spot for the family and/or friends!
