Normally when hubby & I travel we'll dine at a steakhouse & initially planned on going to Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris until our son & his girlfriend convinced us otherwise to get burgers. So, why not?
Our visit landed us here on a Wednesday evening about 4pm & we waited 5 minutes for a table.
Appetizers looked amazing- especially their Cheddar Ale soup (which I really wanted to try $9) but- it didn't offer options for different portions. If there was a cup portion- I'd be all over it. Maybe next time.
I really wanted to try Bangers & mash... but, kept scoping the menu til it caught my eye- Foie Burger!! How often do your tastebuds land on this?!
Foie burger: Foie gras spread; Chevrè (goat milk cheese); frisée; port wine aïoli. I had to cut this burger in half- not that it was some huge gigantic thing... but, I wanted to see how it was layered. I'm neurotic this way, pardon me.
Foie gras spread on both buns- optimum juices flowed beneath burger patty! It took me a quick one to realize what caught my tastebuds attention! It was the Chèvre! I really don't like goat milk- but, it wasn't slathered thick at all.... and I was actually dealing with it well enough to eat every single bite of this burger! Super proud of myself.
The order of truffle parmesan fries comes w/ 2 condiments- ketchup w/ Tabasco sauce and truffle aïoli (you'll see flakes of truffle). Servers were kind enough to bring the curry AND chipotle ketchup too! That curry ketchup blew my mind! So glad these fries are steak cut!
Since we were told Gordon Ramsay liked the Innes & Gunn oak aged ale- why not?! There are notes of vanilla and toffee! Whoa! This ale was delicious!!!
