This place has been in Charlotte forever and I understand that it's good - but it's not great. While it must be doing well enough to stay open for so long, the culinary scene in Charlotte has evolved immensely over the last several years. The market this type of place appeals to - the market that likes a good (not great) meat and two - is dwindling because there are so many other options and at the same or lower price point for the same/better caliber of food.
I had the filet mignon - good but not great. Ambiance so outdated that it doesn't even have classic charm - it's just dark and loud. Service is fine but not great.
Bottom line - it's cool if you feel like you have to see a Charlotte staple but honestly just go somewhere else. For all the culinary gems this city has to offer you'll be better off.
