Absolutely Ah-freaking-mazing! Truly the first time I didn't want to write a review because I loved it the way it is, not heavily traveled with mainly locals and some adventurous tourists sprinkled in. If you're coming off the highway from the strip, take a right at the stop sign and immediate left to an unpaved road. Park off to the side about a mile down. GPS had us going back on the highway which is incorrect. It is about 3-3.5 hour round trip hike depending on how log you spend at the springs and the river. We went at noon on a 80 degree day and it was absolutely perfect weather as the sun is blocked by most of the peaks.
It is a rather straightforward path and no GPS or map is needed to mark your route. Neither of us are very active/physically fit/experienced hikers and found the hike very achievable. It's more about being methodical (seek alternate path if one looks too challenging) and keeping a good pace (not overexerting energy). About 20 minutes in, you'll find a cooler with bottled water left from previous hikers in case you find yourself short. There are 8 ropes throughout to help you scale up and down the rocks. If you are petite (5'5" and under, there are definately 2 or 3 spots where you'll need a boost). There is one VERY hot spring about 20 minutes from the end and another one that is more of warm further down. All of this leads you to the river where you'll be able to capture some beautiful shots.
Do NOT give up! We thought about it about 30 minutes to the end and decided against it (not cause it was difficult but more so because we had plans for a show). Absolutely worthwhile!
