  • Stay away from this company! I bought into their 3-year service program when I bought my house. Two years ago, they came out to do the seasonal service on my AC. I was told that it was on the verge of death, that parts weren't made anymore and that the coolant it uses is now illegal. I then got a pitch for a new system ($18,000) and that if I signed up that day, I could get a a little better price. I said I would just wait until the units actually died. That was a little over two years ago and they AC units are still working. Last week I was called to once again set up my seasonal service and I said I didn't really want that, I told him the story above. He said that if all was working, best to just leave things alone but he would check back again in three months. But, he asked if my water heater had ever been serviced. I said "no" so he suggested a service call for that. He said that since I was on this 3-year service program, the call would be free. So, why not? This morning, their service guy came out, asked if there had been any problems. I said No, so he said it was best to just leave it alone. Then he said, "I'm not really supposed to say this, but, this is really a sales call where I am supposed to talk you into buying something you really don't need." YES, that were his words exactly. He then said he would email me an estimate, just in case I wanted to know what it would cost to replace my water heater. I was emailed the estimate, ALONG WITH A BILL FOR $89...for this supposedly FREE service call! I call them back and said I wasn't paying! The person I talked to said that wasn't his dept. that "someone" would get back to me. It hasn't happened yet! These Orangutan people will try to sell you stuff you don't need at unreasonable prices ($1300 to replace a water heater that I can buy a Lowes for $300), and they will bill you for "free" services! Stay away from these guys! And, on these seasonal service calls, I have repeatedly asked them to stop calling me, but that hasn't happened! Bad business! Slimy! Will sell you (according to THEIR OWN SERVICE GUY) "stuff you really don't need." There are too many HVAC/plumbing companies around! You can find one, as I have done, that is far better, honest and won't try to sell you overpriced equipment you don't need!
