I've been a Cox customer for too many years to count. Their like for their customers is 0 (zero) and leverage their lack of market competition against us.
We've gone from having cable, phone and internet to just internet and that'll be at risk next year. Every other year my prices go up by at least $50 and I have to escalate the call as high as I can go before someone finally approves the previous costs or I cancel. As you can see we only have internet for this reason. We tried Contour a few months ago. What a JOKE! $20/mos and the ability to cast to our TV we were told. Try $30/mos billed and no casting to a TV through any means either Google Chromecast or direct to the TV. I called to cancel and was told the promotion was never put on our account (shocker they are good at that) and I'd have to connect it directly to the TV. Again, not what we were told.
A few years ago, when we returned our cable boxes after cancelling our cable service, they automatically withdrew $400 for the equipment from our checking account. Refusing to redeposit the money they said the only thing they could do is give us an account credit. I refused that and they said they would redeposit it. The rep, lied and they took a month off the credit. I called again and a supervisor gave me the same song and dance for them to only take my monthly payment from the credit and no previous notes in the account about my phone conversation. Needless to say with $100 left from the credit they sent me a $50 check. This company has no ethics and is the most dishonorable company I've ever dealt with.
