Absolutely love this place. The food is a tiny bit spicy and for my zero spice tolerance family this was a problem. It wasn't runny nose or sweaty brow spice, it was a bit of a hello to your palate.
The people working there are really nice and the food is slow cooked goodness. A bit of a soul food and southern NC BBQ fusion.
The thick slices of white bread remind me of TX bbq.
The prices are good, the food is fresh and you can watch it being made.
The reason I couldn't do 5 stars is that this is really a carry-out joint with minimal seating if you are chowing down alone. Not suitable for date night.
Wifey loved loved loved the mac-n-cheese, she said it was as good as Dixie Bones - she loves Dixie Bones.
