| - I think it speaks volumes about Mitchell's that whenever I visit, I nearly always get the same thing because it's so incredibly good, I can't bring myself to miss out on it in favor of some other delicious treat.
That item is the Buckeye sundae, but the few times I have strayed the results have been excellent as well. The flavors don't get too crazy (a la B&J, B&R, etc.) but they are all well made and taste great. I think the homemade sauces are where Mitchell's really shines, and their peanut butter topping is perhaps the best I've ever had.
It can get crowded, but there are usually more than enough capable staffers to keep the lines moving quickly, and despite the heavy volume, I never have trouble fining somewhere to sit.
Another observation about Mitchell's that I think speaks to the quality of their ice cream is that on any given visit you might find the place full of teenagers, pregnant women, or tattooed up hipsters. MItchell's brings them all in in droves.
