  • I just winced at the fact I can only give a minimum of 1 star. My girlfriend and I were visiting Scottsdale for the day and decided to pop into this store for our first stop. Did not even get a chance to look at any of the merchandise. As soon as the door closed behind us, the old man running the store came to the counter and I said Hello. The greeting was not returned. He then asked if there was something specific he could help us with to which we replied that we were simply looking at the moment. Walking in I had every intention of making a purchase, had I seen anything that caught my eye but we were not to make it that far. Once he heard we weren't there to make a specific purchase he became abrasive. Does this man expect every customer to have a specific transaction lined up before they even have a second to look? We come from New York City so we know rude when we see it but this man trumped even the rudest of people we've encountered, let alone a buisness owner! After he completey flipped his mood he noticed my girlfriend and I had two iced coffees from Starbucks which were less than a quarter full. At that point he told us he "didn't care for food and drink in his store" which is perfectly acceptable but it is usually something you would post on your store front like every other store in town does. That was the end of the interaction. Less than a minute. We were pointed to the door which we walked towards and he repeated that he didn't care for food and drink in his store. We really needed that second affirmation as we were already leaving. A business owner is entitled to his own rules but there's a way to go about things and his way was atrocious. I thought he was just having a bad day but after reading every other review I can see he really just is a nasty old man. Kind of funny that his only positive review is from somebody that knows him on a first name basis. Stay far away guys. There's a much friendlier coin store just down the road. Hate to say it but I really agree with another reviewer that stated this is one of those businesses that you really hope goes under. It'll save others from having their day ruined by a man that is clearly so miserable he really wants no more than to afflict others with his abysmal disposition.
