| - It's really hard to rate a museum, in my opinion. Everyone is going to interpret them differently, so take these reviews with a grain of salt.
As a life-long Pittsburgher, I can say confidently that I believe this is the coolest museum in Pittsburgh. I love the location- right in the beginning of the Strip, the heart and soul of Pittsburgh. Parking is a breeze, there are lots everywhere and it's on the bus line. The museum is unique because it's tall and the layout is just unique. You might think you saw everything on the floor, but then you turn a corner and there's a whole different exhibit. This is a great place for tourists and Pittsburghers alike- there is plenty to learn about the history of Pittsburgh in terms of food, sports, the land, and the people. You can easily spend all day here. The cafe really impressed me during my last visit- the prices were so reasonable, which is hard to come by in museums! We last came on Monday's Day and were really in need of coffee, and were pleasantly surprised with their hot and cold options + prices. The gift shop is also adorable and worth checking out. They have the coolest Pittsburgh memorabilia, t-shirts, and books.
The icing on the cake- this is one of the most affordable museums in town. It's very modest, especially for how huge this museum is and what amazing history it has to offer. I highly recommend visiting.
