| - I have mixed feelings about this place. We stopped here because we were looking for a casual patio hangout, and this place had a few seats left. The menu has just enough variety for all appetites, so I was content to sit down for a spell and indulge my cheese addiction (cheese plate) along with a novelty beer: the Red Velvet.
I've never seen so many 'velvet' options! Normally we typically see a Black Velvet: Guinness and apple cider, half and half. They had a White Velvet (Blanche Chambly and apple cider) as well as Red, Orange, Green and some other Velvet variations. Fun!
The cheese plate was a bit hilarious, actually, because remember 'squeeze cheese'? It's the cheese that comes in a tube and you squeeze it out through a star-shaped opening? Well, some of the slices of nice Quebec cheese were garnished with this - like, I didn't think that stuff was even made anymore. I got a kick out of it.
The bathroom sink is realllllllllllllly cool: a warm, wide waterfall over a thick sheet of vertical glass that's lit with blue light, gushing down over a long trough of a sink. It comes on and plays waterfall when you come near it. Also really fun.
The staff were super nice, but I'm afraid a little too nice - there was a table full of lecherous, misogynist senior men next to us who were slavering at the very young waitress, as well as every single woman that walked by, making pig comments. It ruined my experience, and I felt bad for the server. It's unfortunate if this is the regular clientele of this place (hopefully not). I guess I won't know unless I go back again, but I'm just not sure I'm feeling that option!
