If you love the movie, then you will love this small museum and the replica house. I can't say I'm as big of a fan as most. This is wholly due to the 24 hour marathon that TBS runs every year...it just runs the movie into the ground for me.
Anywho...the house was really pretty amazing, as the owner has done incredible work to make the house look as close to the real house in the movie - including forking out some serious cash for authentic antiques. To be honest...I'd live in that house today if I could! The house is the actual location where outside scenes were shot, but the inside was actually used very little for the filming.
The tour guides are well versed on the history of the movie and it's actors. The small museum across the street holds some artifacts from filming and shows more of the local landmarks featured in the film. Next door to that is the gift shop, which had a lot of great gifts for the Christmas Story fan, including your own leg lamp!
I would definitely recommend stopping in if you get the chance...it's a great way to get the Christmas spirit flowing any time of year!
