| - The ambiance was nice.
The staff was friendly.
The Ceasar salad was very good.
But I'm almost at a loss for words about the "Italian" cuisine. It's hard for me to believe that any chef, or cook, would serve some of this food and think it's edible, much less good.
When my wife put the pappardelle bolognese in her mouth, after fiddling with the thick pasta in an attempt to get it on her fork, she actually stopped chewing and just stared at me.
I asked her if it was good. Silence. Then, I said "mediocre?" More silence. Then she spit it into her napkin and finally said, "taste this, it's tastes like glue."
And unfortunately, I did taste it, and I had the same reaction, and I had to spit it out.
The homemade pasta was so thick it couldn't be twirled onto the fork, it had to actually be cut with a knife. And it tasted like uncooked dough with flour on it. There was no meat to be found in the dish and the sauce looked and tasted like it just came out of a tomato can, watery with the tinny taste of the can.
That's why I wrote that I'm almost at a loss for words because I've never tasted anything like it. It's not possible that the person who cooked it tastes their own food or has any experience with preparing or eating Italian food.
I ordered the calamari steak with "arreganata." Again, pretty shocking. The calamari steak had no flavor at all and the "arreganata' was some soggy bread crumbs piled on top that were so over salted, one bite was too
much. We returned both the appetizer and entree.
Then, as a last ditch effort to eat something other than salad, we ordered the meatball appetizer which unfortunately was equally as confusing. The meatballs were flavorless and wet, and the sauce they were sitting in tasted exactly like ketchup and worcestershire steak sauce.
We took the meatballs to go and then threw them away.
I'm not trying to be overly critical or mean, but it's hard to describe what we were served.
I can tell you that after we left, we felt like we had to get something to wash the taste out of our mouths.
Sorry Evo, but I strongly suggest you bring in a chef to taste your food before serving more of it.
