  • After a heavy meal, we busted out the yelp app and looked for a "healthy" dessert and found Matcha Cafe Maiko. Coming in, it is a very spacious and clean establishment. We ordered the Maiko Special with matcha ice cream. The Maiko comes with matcha ice cream and filled with matcha green tea cake pieces, mochi, a gingko nut, red bean, jelly, and what appears to be Frosted Flakes at the bottom. The presentation is beautiful, definitely a piece of of artwork worth eating. This review is purely on the highlight- the ice cream. Creamy, delicate, a strong earthy green matcha taste. I would give more stars for the ice cream if I could! The Maiko special however don't really think the Frosted Flakes and gingko nut worked for me personally. Next time I will probably get just the ice cream in a waffle cone. Too much going on in the special.
